About GAPR

Guardian Angels Pug Rescue (GAPR) is a non-profit, NO kill, rescue organization dedicated to saving pugs, pug mixes and sometimes other non-pug breeds or mixes (these we call "pug-wannabes").

GAPR makes sure each pug gets proper veterinary care including spay/neutering, vaccinations, heartworm tested and put on preventative and any other veterinary care that is necessary to help the pug. Through our adoption process, which includes an application, reference checks and home inspection, we place the rescue pugs into loving, permanent, approved homes. GAPR reserves the right to deny any applcation that GAPR feels would not be suited to adopting a rescue pug. There is an adoption fee that is dependant upon each individual rescue pug.

GAPR is always looking for volunteers and foster homes!

GAPR does NOT transport any pug for adoption, you must be willing to come to either our shelter or to the foster home that has the rescue pug once and if you are approved to adopt.

We love to welcome our members and people interested in our pugs to the shelter, but by appointment only please. We are staffed by volunteers and therefore, do not operate on "normal" business hours. All visitation is by appointment only.

Testimonials

AUGUST 4, 2012

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you see Woody.

We adopted him from Guardian Angels Pug
Rescue over 8 years ago.  He was only with you for a day when we came to pick him up. He was taken from a home in Philadelphia where he was abused.  He was so scared for months when we brought him home and only weighed 9 pounds. Today, he is the sweetest, friendliest,  happiest dog weighing in at at a healthy 20 pounds. He has the best life! We brought him home to be with us and our other pug, Lulu.  To this day they are the best of friends. Woody turns 10 this month and we just wanted to thank Guardian Angels Pug Rescue for bringing us this precious boy who has brought so much joy to our lives.

Sincerely,

Dee and Bill Casteel
